Emergency Equipment Imbalance Surcharge

Turkey to all North European destinations

Dear customer,

Due to a severe imbalance between exports and imports in all Turkish ports, and as situation is expected to last, Hamburg Süd is introducing an Emergency Equipment Imbalance Surcharge (EIS) from Turkey to all North European destinations in order to meet the growing demand for empty containers.

The EIS will apply to all containers exported from Turkey that will be loaded from March 15th 2020 until further notice. The amount will be as follows, payment following freight:

USD/EUR/GBP 100 per container for DRY and REEFER cargo
