BAF and ECA Surcharge - United States East & Gulf Coasts to South America and the Caribbean

(Morristown, New Jersey)… Effective January 1, 2017 the following Bunker Surcharge (BAF) adjustments will take effect:

  • United States East and Gulf Coast ports to Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao will remain at $712/20’ and $1,424/40’.

  • United States East and Gulf Coast ports to Venezuela will remain at $397/20’ and $794/40’.

  • United States East and Gulf Coast ports to East Coast of South America will remain at $375/20’ and $750/40’.

  • United States East & Gulf Coast ports to West Coast of South America will remain at $251/20’ and $502/40’.

  • United States East Coast ports to Colombia will remain at $122/20’ and $244/40’.

  • United States Gulf Coast ports to Colombia will remain at $72/20’ and $144/40’.

Effective January 1, 2017 the following Emission Control Area (ECA) adjustments will take effect:

  • United States East and Gulf Coast ports to Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao and Venezuela will decrease to $25/20’ and $50/40’.

  • United States East and Gulf Coast ports to East Coast of South America will remain at $36/20’ and $72/40’.

  • United States East & Gulf Coast ports to Colombia and West Coast of South America will decrease to $25/20’ and $50/40’.



Tariff as well as existing service contracts will be subject to these charges. The Bunker and Emission Control Area Surcharges will continue to be monitored on a quarterly basis and adjustments will be made following the review period, with the appropriate notice given to the trade.
