Hamburg Süd, one of the ten largest shipping companies in the world, was the winner of the Inbrasc 2017 Award in the category "Best Marine Transporter". The award is promoted by the Brazilian Supply Chain Institute (Instituto Brasileiro de Supply Chain), one of Febracorp University's business schools, which has more than 14,000 graduates.
The objective of Inbrasc is to reward the suppliers of solutions that stood out during 2016, in addition to projects of MBA students from the areas of Supply Chain and Purchasing. Around 150 executives from the largest players in the industry attended the awards ceremony in São Paulo, Brazil.
In order to choose winners, there was a rigorous evaluation process. The first phase consisted of indication (free quotation) by market professionals. The most indicated in each category were approved by the Executive and Deliberative Committees of Febracorp Live University, which conducted interviews, career analysis and project reviews in blind review - a criterion that ensures that evaluators do not know who they are evaluating. At the end of this phase, three finalists per category were selected.
According to Mariana Lara, Hamburg Süd regional sales manager, the award reinforces the company's experience and commitment to customer service quality. "It is an honor to know that we are recognized as the Best Marine Transporter", said the executive who received the award.
Alex Leite, educational director of Inbrasc said: “The award is an important crowning point for professionals and companies that work with Supply Chain and Purchasing, two areas that were not so valued in the market and, during the crisis, were responsible for great part of the profitability of the companies, even with all the complex infrastructure problems in Brazil”.
