Whether dry cargo, temperature-sensitive goods or out-of-gauge consignments: with a total of more than 580,000 dry, reefer and special containers, Hamburg Süd has the flexibility to respond to a wide range of transport requirements. Our logistics specialists ensure that the right container to meet our customers’ needs is in the right place at the right time – for an optimum in the transport chain.
Standard containers
The robust 20-foot and 40-foot all-round boxes are constructed to handle almost every transportation need. 40-foot high-cube containers are somewhat higher and suitable for transporting large-volume cargo.

Reefer containers
Whether perishable foodstuffs, flowers or pharmaceuticals – in Hamburg Süd’s modern reefer containers, refrigerated cargo is transported under optimum conditions. Hamburg Süd’s reefer containers are ideally suited to every type of temperature-controlled cargo – from minus 40 to plus 30 °C. Hamburg Süd also provides containers featuring controlled atmosphere and modified atmosphere technology especially for transporting fruit and vegetables.
